You have probably heard about bugs or encountered bed bugs at some point, but you never understand bed bugs. If you understand what are bed bugs, then this will probably help in knowing ways of eradicating. Bed bugs are categorized in the group of household pests.

Just like other pests, they are a nuisance and can cause problems and especially sleep deprivation. They are difficult to eradicate, but with the right measures, it is possible to get rid of them. In this article, we are going to learn more about these insects that are a source of the problem in many households.

Facts about bed bugs

They are insectsinsects

Bed bugs are insects, and this means that they have all the features of insects. They have six legs, and they are oval shaped. Depending on the breed of bed bugs and the region, there might be differences in color varying from gray, black to light brown. The bottom line is no matter the breed of bed bugs, all of them are pests that affect the home.

The feed on human blood

Bed bugs feed on human blood, and this is the reason why you will find most of them in homes. This might be the reason why they are called bed bugs, and they hide on the bed and wait to suck blood while you are asleep. They will suck blood while asleep by biting different parts of the body.

Bites are painless

The bed bug bites are painless, and this is why people will notice the bites in the morning or after sleeping. Sometimes you might confuse the bug bites with an allergic skin reaction. The bites are however very itchy, and they cause discomfort. The discomfort can be eased by the use of ointments that are applied to the skin.

They are most acinsects on bedtive at night

Bed bugs are most active at night because they feed on blood and they will wait until it is quite and the host is asleep to suck blood. They are very annoying and anyone who has faced a bed bug infestation will agree that they make sleeping almost impossible.

They thrive in clutter

Unlike popular belief, bed bugs thrive in clutter and not dirt. They like hiding in clutter, and this is why if you have a lot of clutter in your room, you will need to remove the clutter so that you can kill them.
